Does the school charge tuition?

No. Our schools are free, public charter schools.

Does my child have to wear a uniform?

Yes.  We have a uniform policy and guide, which can be found HERE.  

What are the school hours?

Our school doors open at 7:45 am and we close at 4:00 pm.

Do I have to apply?

Yes. While our schools maintain an open enrollment policy, we require applications as schools of choice.  

How do I apply?

When can I apply?  

The application is open from January 1st through April 1st for the following school year. The admissions lottery is held in mid-April.  Once all seats are filled, a waitlist is generated. We continue to accept applications for the waitlist throughout the school year.

How are admissions determined?

Admissions are determined by a blind, third-party lottery.

Do you have afterschool activities?

Afterschool activities were temporarily suspended due to the pandemic. As long as case rates remain low, we intend to slowly phase afterschool activities back into our schedules. Please contact your school leader for more information about what times and activities are available.

Do you provide transportation?

Bronx Excellence schools provide bussing through the NYCDOE Office of Pupil Transportation.  More information about transportation eligibility can be found HERE.
