Summer Bridge Program
The Bronx Excellence Middle Summer Bridge Program equips our scholars with the tools necessary for success in middle school, in preparation for the rigors of high school. We aim to expose students to the academic options available to them after middle school by visiting college and high school campuses.

Program Goals:

  • Engagement in Learning – Scholarss will increase the amount of time spent on reading for pleasure.
  • Improved Relationships – Scholars will productively work with peers in small & large group settings.
  • Physical Activity & Fitness – Scholars will increase the number of hours per week spent being physically active.
  • Educational Excellence – Scholars will increase their level of awareness of high school options.
  • Future Goals & Aspirations – Scholars will increase their level of awareness of college options.

5th & 6th Graders: Scholars of Excellence

Scholars will learn about the differences between elementary school and middle school. They will understand the expectations of middle school and prepare for their transition into middle school. Scholars will learn the skills and tools to achieve academic excellence, while pursuing and exploring interests through extra-curricular activities. Scholars will develop the time management skills and study habits to improve their grades throughout the school year.

7th & 8th Graders: On the Road to Excellence

The New York City high school admissions process is highly competitive! We tour the city visiting NYC specialized high schools, independent day schools, and Catholic high schools. We know that not all roads lead to higher education; therefore, we expose our scholars to the nation’s top colleges and universities by visiting their campus. Our goal is for our scholars to understand what it takes to get to those institutions of higher learning.
